I spent a great deal of my life trying to avoid “pain” not solely in the physical sense, but emotionally as well. I liked my comfort zone and all pain did was remind me that I had potential to grow.
Romans 8:18 NIV
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
Pain is a very real part of life, and most times we as people miss it’s value. Pain will reveal the truth of one’s true self. Our perception and experience with pain determines much of our response to it. Which directly influences or functionality when in painful, or stressful situations. This calls for understanding of ourselves, because ultimately we are solely responsible for our reactions. How one responds to the pains of life truly shows one desire to embrace life. Pain is a constant part of life not to break us down, but to help build us up. Embracing this simple truth of life pain is a given no matter what, so don’t run from it in hopes it will go away. Take a breath tell your mind to shut up, and square up with it. Look it in the eye let it reflect back to you your fears, and truly see how exaggerated they are.
To start this process begin with why, why does this make me uneasy, why am I afraid of what might happen? Why am I afraid of what is trying to be revealed in myself? Why can’t I accept the pain?
